Beginning of an Era
At the beginning, Texas hold’em was only found at the Golden Nugget Casino, which hindered the game’s growth as the card room there wasn’t the nicest around. In fact, most professionals who were resident in the city wouldn’t consider going there.
It wasn’t until the road gamblers played a game in the entrance of the Dunes Casino that word started to spread. This was right in the middle of The Strip giving the game maximum exposure.

Doyle Brunson then took matters into his own hands by writing the original classic Super System. This was the real beginning of poker growing into what it is today.

And in the seventh place, we have hand called three of a kind, which means exactly as it sounds like, three of one card no matter suit. The eight and the ninth-place consists of two pairs to score the eight-place and one pair for the ninth-place, no matter suit. And in the last place, we have just a simple high card, meaning the player with the highest card in his hand wins the game.

Poker involves a lot of so-called bluffing that is used to trick other players. To figure out if the game is worth participating in, players have to guess each other cards. If the poker game is played in real life, players guess each other cards by looking at each other’s faces, smiles or eyes during the game. A poker face means not giving out information through emotional expressions that can be easily understood by the other players.
A lot of poker players constantly bluff to win hands. Bluffing means that you bet and force other players to bet too, even though you know your poker hand is weak and you probably would not win. The result is that you might win a hand that you otherwise would have lost when other players do not take up such bets against you. Bluffing like this plays a huge psychological role during a poker game and is a major part of the game.
Another strategy can be that if you do not prefer to bluff a lot, you can wait to only play your best hands and fold the bad hands. This strategy can be a boring one since it is not often you get some of the best hands. It means sitting out on many of the games and folding early in every game until you are given a great hand.
But beware, this strategy can be predicted by other players if you do it all the time so it is therefore wise to not be predictable in your behavior all the time so other players can’t predict your moves as easily.
